This Site is owned by Sahan Research (“Sahan”), a limited company. The website is known by all users of this subscribed service as Sahan Publications, “The Somali Wire,”, “The Ethiopian Cable,” and “The Horn Edition” https://sahan.global/sahan-publications/ All content displayed on the site is copyright to Sahan Research Foundation.
By using this site https://sahan.global/sahan-publications/ or by otherwise accessing any content found on this Site, including use of any digital application to access this Site, you are entering into an agreement with Sahan Research and agree to the Terms and Conditions contained herein and all other operating rules, policies (including, without limitation, the Sahan Publications https://sahan.global/privacy-policy/ ) and procedures that may be published from time to time on this Site by Sahan. If you do not agree to all the terms and conditions, then you may not access the Site or use any of its services.
INFORMATION ON THIS SITE. The content-available on this Site is intended to be a general information resource and is provided solely on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. You are encouraged to confirm the information contained herein. ELIGIBILITY AND REGISTRATION. By using this Site, you represent and warrant that: all registration and other information you submit, if any, is truthful and accurate; you will maintain the accuracy of any information you provide; you will not submit any personal information if you are under 18 years of age; and your use of this Site does not violate any applicable law or regulation.
Account Holders are able to purchase a subscription to Sahan publications, such as “The Somali Wire” and “The Ethiopian Cable,” through their dedicated accounts. By creating an account Users/Subscribers agree to all Terms herein.
If you create an account on the Site, you are fully responsible for maintaining the security of your account and you are fully responsible for all activities that occur under the account. You must immediately notify the Sahan Publications team of any unauthorized use of your account or any other breach of security. Sahan Publications will not be liable for any acts or omissions by you, including any damages of any kind incurred as a result of such acts or omissions.
Sahan will aim to ensure all new account registrations are vetted as swiftly as possible, but is unable to guarantee that an account will be approved within a specified date and time, and cannot be held responsible for being unable to do so. Sahan retains the rights to approve and deny accounts according to its own discretion.
Password responsibilities
Password access to the Site is for named, individual use only and login details must not be shared with any other party. Sahan utilises standard IP (address) tracking technology and reserves the right to terminate access without refund if evidence of misuse is found.
Individuals are responsible for keeping passwords and login information confidential. This is monitored for the safety and security of subscribers, for the integrity of content, and for Sahan’s continued ability to invest in high quality research and analysis.
Single-user subscriptions are strictly designed for the use of one individual, NOT for the use of one individual at a time. Sharing of login information constitutes a breach of Sahan Publication’s Terms and access to the account may be suspended or deleted without notice for this reason.
Whereas login details may not be shared with any other person, a subscription may be transferred to another individual within the same organisation with written notice.
In the event of a breach in access, Users agree to immediately inform Sahan Publications as soon as they become aware of such breach, which may be the result of loss, theft or unauthorised use of any email registration and password by another individual, known or unknown.
This access must be strictly adhered to, unless otherwise stated in writing.
Change of Contact Details and Address:
Universities, agencies and organisations are obliged to provide correct and up-to-date information surrounding subscription set-up and/or subscriber details, including change in email address or contact number, or User change should a subscriber no long be at the institution from which they were subscribed.
No responsibility is accepted for the use of incorrect information caused by a lack of update by the subscriber/organisation.
TYPES OF SUBSCRIPTION AND PRICING
Sahan Research offers various types of subscriptions to Sahan publications, such as “The Somali Wire”, “The Ethiopian Cable” and “The Horn Edition,” accommodating Students, Individual Professionals, and Institutions’ access to content and the choice of monthly or yearly subscriptions.
By submitting credit card or Paypal details, Purchasers commit to payment for the chosen subscription. Sahan will aim to ensure all orders are processed as swiftly as possible, but are unable to guarantee that a subscription will be activated within a specified date and time, and cannot be held responsible for being unable to do so.
Subscription Pricing
The total subscription price will be made clear to the purchaser via online payment registration forms. At the time of purchase, the subscriber agrees to pay the rates advised. All purchases are in the form of a monthly or annual payment.
Sahan will review eligibility for free subscriptions and, if approved, this will be granted at the time of subscription. The subscription cost will never change during its validity but is liable to increase or decrease upon renewal.

PAYMENT AND RENEWAL
General Terms
Paid services, such as access to Sahan Publications, such as “The Somali Wire” , “The Ethiopian Cable” and “The Horn Edition,” are available on the Site. When utilising a paid service, you agree to pay Sahan the monthly or annual subscription fees indicated. Payments will be charged on a pre-pay basis on the day you begin utilising the service and will cover the use of that service for a monthly or annual subscription period as indicated. These fees are not refundable. Sahan is not obligated to refund any payment made for a subscription unless approved for reasonable requests.
Automatic Renewal
Unless you notify Sahan before the end of the applicable subscription period that you want to cancel or upgrade a service, your subscription will automatically renew and you authorize us to collect the then-applicable annual or monthly subscription fee (as well as any taxes) using any credit card or other payment mechanism we have on record for you.

Payment Details
Purchasers of subscriptions from Sahan Publications agree to provide Sahan with complete and accurate payment information to carry out successful transactions.
By submitting payment details via https://sahan.global/sahan-publications/ purchasers guarantee they are fully entitled to purchase a subscription using provided payment details and are legally able to do so.
All online transactions are securely encrypted and are made via Sahan’s chosen payment merchant Pesapal.
PERMITTED USE - TERMINATION AND SUSPENSION OF ACCESS
Unreasonable use and abuse of content, including screen saves and the systematic downloading and re-distribution of content without written permission from Sahan will result in access to the Site being blocked or suspended. Under no circumstances does permitted usage include any commercial exploitation of material.
This term also includes the systematic exploitation of sharing login details dedicated to one individual sole user only.
Suspension of access may also take place when users have sought to avoid paying subscription fees after a considerable amount of access has been provided to a user trustingly. Sahan has full right to determine what constitutes this ‘considerable amount.’
Sahan reserves the right to terminate or suspend access to its content with or without notice, at any time, with or without cause, with no obligation to issue pro-rata refund fees in light of breaches. If you wish to terminate these Terms or your Sahan Publications account (if you have one), you may simply discontinue using the Site.[1] All provisions of these Terms by their nature should survive termination, including, without limitation, ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, indemnity and limitations of liability.
Content Modification – Lack of citation
Users and visitors to the Site and the content therein must correctly cite Sahan Publications in their works. Content modification or lack of citation of Sahan content, which may be readily available to the public, is strictly prohibited. Informed business and operational decisions by use of the
Site content is acceptable on the strict proviso that correct quotations are made, to prevent the content being distorted in any way.
Photocopying and Downloads
Subscribers are permitted to download issues or articles for personal use only, without distribution. Users may not print web pages or save web page content other than individual articles for personal use.
Electronic dissemination of materials and articles via email or social media is strictly prohibited, unless prior permission from Sahan is obtained. Sahan has technology to identify breach of user terms. Sahan holds all right to investigate any potential breaches should it to be deemed fit and appropriate to do so.
Misuse or breach of trust will result in account suspension or deletion. In the case of such termination, Sahan will have no obligation to provide a refund of any amounts previously paid to Sahan Publications
Delivery, Removals and Changes to content
Sahan aims to ensure all new content is published promptly and accepts no responsibility for any delays in publishing content.
Sahan reserves full right at any time to withdraw or change any item or part of an item within the Site if new information comes to light and change is deemed desirable.

No material may be re-sold or re-distributed without authorisation, whether for benefit or profit or not, or published elsewhere without Sahan’s prior written consent, save as authorised by a license with Sahan Publications or to the extent required by applicable law.
No intellectual property rights in any Sahan Publications content are transferred to readers. Subscribers must strictly cite Sahan in any academic or professional content. Sahan assumes no liability for any misinterpretation in the use of its content.
Individuals and organisations are prohibited from using any trade mark names or design logos of Sahan Publications, including the Somali Wire or the Ethiopian Cable, and any other trade names associated with this website without the written permission from Sahan or its Board of Directors.

Sahan will endeavour to provide continuous access to all materials and services relating to the Site, but cannot be held liable for any loss of service. Sahan takes compliant steps to provide high security measures via the website provider. Sahan is not responsible for any loss of data or hardware damage thought to be caused through use of the Site. All information passed to the Site is protected by the provider and any associated payment merchant.
Sahan does not warrant[3] the information on the Sahan Publications Site.
Sahan does not accept responsibility for any loss, injury, damage or lawsuit related to the use of information contained within Sahan Publications or any linked Site.
