Transitional environments as well as emerging democracies are complex, open-ended, and easily combustile. The agendas for peace, stability and sustainable development are ultimately political in nature, involving multiple factors and actors at various levels and reflecting issues of long-standing political exclusion, economic disparities, and socio-cultural deprivation in the distribution of political and economic power. Sahan promotes locally driven and owned processes and facilitates inclusive political deal-making, aimed at providing a foundation for building long-term stability based on respect for the rule of law and principles of good governance. We team up and work closely with local networks, government institutions, relevant national structures as well as regional, and international organizations to ensure/promote participatory, consensus oriented, accountable, transparent, responsive, equitable and inclusive approaches are adopted in programming.

• Political Facilitation. Promoting and organising broad-based, consultative processes in support of state building; Engaging in policy dialogue with governments, donors and policy thinkers at global and national levels.

• Policy advise. Assisting leaders in translating state building frameworks into pragmatic policy orientations and negotiating frameworks.
